Jackie - NJ

Well it is so frustrating reading all the stories here about the lack of empathy from the banks and mortgage holders, that I wonder what is the Obama adminisration doing for us (main street) about this dilemna that we are facing. My story started back in April 2009, when my boyfriend and I lived together for a number of years, he got laid off in April, back then I was current with my mortgage payment of $1874. In May 2009 I called Citimortgage  and told them my situation about my partner losing his job and I would not be able to pay the total amount with my salary, so I would like to apply for a temporary modification, until the situation got better. Well they agreed to put me on the 3 months trial modification, in the meantime because of only one income in the home, the situation started to deterioate, with a lot of fighting and frustration, eventually after 3 years of what seemed to be a good relationship that we thought would lead to marriage, my partner LEFT. In the meantime I am paying the $900 a month on the trial modification. In  August when the 3 months trial ended, I was given another 3 month trial that ended in November, so now I am thinking that since my situation has not changed, I would be given a permanent modification beginning in December. I contacted Citimortgage and was told that I needed to submit paperwork, which I did, the pay stubs, bank statements etc., in the meantime I asked should I continue submitting my $900 monthly, I was told no, because my account is under revue, this continued for 3 months, calling every week, getting the same results (under revue), then missing documents, having to re-fax paper work numerous times, all the while I am getting phone calls about my mortgage payment being late, and having to explain over and over that I am in the process for loan modification, these folks do not communicate with each other, even though they work for the same company. Eventually I got a letter stated that I was being referred to an attorney for FORECLOSURE Proceedings!!!WHAT!!!!, I did not see this coming, so I called Citimortgage, and they told me I was still being reviewed for modification, but that there are standard procedures that still take place, so ignored the letter. The next week a lady by the named of Alicia called and said that I was approved for a permanent modification, guess the monthly payment---$1840-WHAT!!! I can't affored that, if I could I would have been making my regular payments like I was doing before, these people are inhumane, they don't care about hard working individuals who are trying to live the American Dream, so Alicia then proceeded to put me back on a 4 month trial payment of $935, at the end of which, if I can't cure the default in some way or other, I would be placed in a Short Sale Program..at this point I don't know what I should do, I am making the $935 payments, and this is until August,  I have been trying and still do to get a second job, but even that is hard to find. I put my trust in the LORD and know that he would work something out, but these banks and mortgage companies need to be held accountable for anguish and frustrations they are putting folks through, somebody needs to get tougher with these predators, folks like me are not looking for handouts, just a way to make the payments affordable and continue to keep my home. Anyone have any situations with Citimortgage. WE NEED CONGRESS TO HELP US NOW!!!
